The Ingredients listed below are "for your information. The Lab works to improve the product on a continuous basis.
I've been doing my web sites for over 12 years. The following explanation
(which I purposely still show the contents of the "OLD" bottle contents ---Yet,
just received "word" from the
Lab that someone contacted them and complained that my site shows that there are
those two
strains --- BUT THEY WERE THERE IN THE OLD VERSION ---
NOT SO NOW.
That is why I show the Old and the New contents. WOW
So, I will now delete the listing as shown on the site that has been active for
about
2 years -- no one else ever seemed to "get confused". Suppose, I should
not always
assume it helps someone to know that Flora Source is always endeavoring to find
better microorganisms to do a better health improving job.
"Old" 16 STRAINS

"There are many factors that have influenced our
decision to make the above changes.
B. breve and L. gasseri will take the place of L. acidopilus
DDS-1 and L. sporogenes.
The new strains have shown many positive results in recent
studies. B. breve is
beneficial for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, prevents
rotavirus-
induced diarrhea and activates the humeral immune system.
L. gasseri has effects on both suppressing H. pylori
and reducing gastric mucosal
inflammation, and hypocholesterolemic effect."
Based on the changes in the formulation, improved strains
and streamlined processes
the new formula will have the following advantages:
* Improved stability due to disaccharide-encapsulated strains.
* Enhanced viability attributed to our proprietary BioBac
technology
and cold packaging
process.
* Increased shelf life due to use of V-Caps, Kosher- and Halal-certified capsules.
* Improved consumer recognition attributed to more attractive label.
The new disaccharide-encapsulated strains show 90 %
survival rate at room
temperature (25º C) six months after manufacturing.
Progressively throughout the year we will be exchanging
more strains with the
disaccharide-encapsulated counterparts. These changes will result
in increased shelf life and improved stability.
The customers will get more benefits than ever before
from this new formula.
Take 2 capsules daily with milk or water before breakfast (or any meal).
After two weeks, reduce to 1 capsule daily or as directed by a
health care professional / practitioner.
NO REFRIGERATION NEEDED.
Note: When I
asked the lab for clarification, I was told that "If one wishes to
refrigerate
the product. Do it. It's just that NOW, it does not have to be
refrigerated".

It contains 30 billion viable cells
per gram, guaranteed at time of manufacture --
with 16 different valuable strains (this is applicable to the latest production

We also requested the lab to give more "words" that explain "What's New"?
The lab introduces technological advances in micro-encapsulation process !!!
* The Standard Process basically adds molten (heated)
polymer (long chain
of molecule) to a "cluster" of cells, thereby killing all those cells
on the
outside of the cluster. Unlike standard micro encapsulation process,
which
deleterious cells, the process utilizes a stabilizer technology that is far,
more gentle on cells. We "absorb" (a long chain of molecules
which forms
the protective coating clings to cells) a polymer to individual cells thereby
protecting EACH cell and do this at low or room temperature.
It is truly an innovating process and difficult to achieve
as compared to
standard micro encapsulation process."
We will now add more information from the Lab:
The lab is improving its probiotic formulation and refining
the manufacturing
processes. Recently made some decisions that will affect the way "we
formulate
and manufacture our probiotic materials". Changes started March,
2003.
The Changes:
* We will be adding disaccharide-encapsulated,
room-temperature stable
strains throughout 2003
* We will no longer carry spore-forming bacteria
* We will no longer include ascorbic acid in our formulas
* We will be updating the formula with two new
strains
